About Active Canada

Pioneering sustainable adventure tourism across Canada's pristine wilderness since 2015

Our Story

Active Recreation Canada was born from a chance encounter on the Icefields Parkway in 2015. Three passionate adventurers - a wilderness guide, an environmental scientist, and a former Olympic athlete - found themselves sharing stories around a campfire during an unexpected snowstorm. That night, we realized we shared a common vision: to create transformative outdoor experiences that honor Canada's natural heritage while inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards.

What started as weekend excursions with friends has evolved into Canada's most trusted adventure tourism company. We've guided over 15,000 adventurers through some of the world's most spectacular landscapes, from the rugged coastlines of British Columbia to the pristine wilderness of the Yukon Territory. Our commitment to sustainable practices and authentic cultural partnerships has earned recognition from Parks Canada and indigenous communities across the country.

Today, we operate year-round programs that combine world-class adventure with environmental education, safety excellence, and cultural respect. Every expedition we lead contributes to conservation efforts and supports local communities, ensuring that Canada's wilderness remains pristine for future generations of adventurers.
